Fire and Emergency New Zealand

New Zealand has a Central Government Fire Service controlled by the Fire and Emergency New Zealand Act 2017 which combined urban and rural fire services into a single, integrated fire and emergency services organisation with more than 14,000 people, many of them volunteers.
The New Zealand Fire and Emergency Service does not monitor Fire Alarms itself directly, instead it has fire alarm messages routed via accredited and approved private Alarm Monitoring Stations similar to ALARMNZ

Forest and Rural Fire Association of New Zealand

Forest and Rural Fire Association of New Zealand (FRFANZ) is a national association that represents people and organisations concerned with fire protection in the forests and rural areas of New Zealand. Responsibility for fires in these areas lies with Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ); Fire and Emergency New Zealand was formally established on 1 July 2017, after the New Zealand Fire Service, the National Rural Fire Authority, and 86 Rural Fire Authorities which covered 97% of land area in New Zealand, amalgamated to form one new organisation.

National Emergency Management Agency

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) provides strong, national leadership to create an emergency management system that reduces the impact of emergencies.
NEMA works with central and local government, communities, iwi, and business to make sure responses to and recoveries from emergencies are effective and integrated.
Depending on the emergency, we lead or support the response and recovery. We work to build the capability and capacity of the emergency management system to reduce risk, to be ready for emergencies, and to respond and recover from them.









New Zealand Urban Search and Rescue

Urban Search and Rescue (NZUSAR) is a vital part of New Zealand's multi-agency response capability for dealing with urban emergencies. NZUSAR involves the location and rescue of people trapped following a structural collapse arising, e.g. from a single building collapse, or as a result of a major landslide or earthquake.







Coastguard New Zealand

The Coastguard New Zealand provides New Zealand's primary maritime Search and Rescue service. Coastguard operates from a network of 4 regions and 63 affiliated units, strategically located around the coastline and major lakes of New Zealand. These units have all been established by a concerned community, usually after a local boating tragedy.







New Zealand Mountain Safety Council

The New Zealand Mountain Safety Council was formed in 1965 in response to a growing concern over an increasing number of accidents in the bush and mountains. Representatives from a number of government and recreational organisations formed an incorporated society with the goal of enhancing safety in outdoor adventure activities. The Council has developed into an organization with 27 member organisations

New Zealand Security Association

The New Zealand Security Association (NZSA) is the largest industry representative body for the security industry in New Zealand and represents over 85% of the industry by revenue. Its voluntary members include security providers ranging from large multi-nationals to sole traders and also includes individuals and companies who are not direct providers of security services but have an interest in the industry. The stated objective of the New Zealand Security Association is to do all things necessary and lawful to ensure there is always available to the New Zealand public, a security industry comprising of persons and firms who are fit and proper. The New Zealand Security Association is committed to the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct at all times.









ASIS New Zealand

ASIS International has been offering an internationally recognised certification in the field of Security Management through its Certified Protection Professional (CPP) for nearly 30 years. Thousands of security professionals throughout the world have embraced this scheme to achieve certification, which has risen to be a worldwide benchmark in security management. In 2002 ASIS International introduced two further certification programmes; the Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) and the Physical Security Professional (PSP).

Victim Support

Victim Support provides 24hr emotional support, personal advocacy and information to all people affected by crime and trauma throughout New Zealand .

Women's Refuge

Women's Refuge now provides various programmes in the community for women and children, as well as providing safe houses, crisis-lines and community support for women and children. As a result of their interagency work they are also able to put women in touch with other service providers such as lawyers, doctors, WINZ and counselors etc, and support women through these processes.

Citizens Advice Bureau

St John Ambulance

St John serves communities throughout New Zealand by delivering emergency and non-emergency ambulance services for approximately 85% of New Zealand's population. Wellington Free Ambulance

Wellington Free Ambulance (WFA), the only recognised free ambulance service in a major New Zealand city, has been assisting the people of greater Wellington and Wairarapa since 1927. An Incorporated Society run by its own board of management, WFA is an essential service provider for the community, committed to providing the highest quality clinical care in emergency situations, pre-hospital care, rescue and transport services








Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust

The Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust's origins date back to the establishment of the Rescue Helicopter Service in 1970. The Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter provides a professional, efficient, emergency air ambulance, search and rescue service and is staffed full-time by a highly experienced flight crew consisting of pilots, paramedics and crewmen..









Life Flight

Life Flight provides a 24/7 nationwide air ambulance service transporting critically ill patients who urgently require specialist medical care often only available in one or two hospitals in New Zealand. Our Westpac Rescue Helicopter serves the lower North and upper South Island






Phillips Search & Rescue Trust

Philips Search & Rescue Trust (PSRT) is responsible for the North Island’s largest pool of community rescue helicopters. They cover the Central North Island. Available through the emergency 111 call system, our rapid response rescue helicopters bring life-saving equipment, rescue personnel, and trauma-trained Intensive Care Paramedics directly to the patient. Providing timely assistance can reduce disability and improve survival – the sooner resuscitation and treatment begins, the greater the chance of patient recovery.



Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue Trust

The Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue Trust has successfully administered an air rescue service since 1989. Hundreds of people throughout Canterbury and the West Coast have been successfully flown from accident sites and hospitals to critical care units throughout the South Island by three main operations - The Westpac Rescue Helicopter, based in Christchurch, the Solid Energy Rescue Helicopter based in Greymouth and the NZ Flying Doctor Service fixed wing aircraft also based in Christchurch
